Valentine's Day recipes

Hey guys. So today I'm coming to you with A recipe for Valentine's Day. This is something to make for yourself or if you have kids or anybody really. It is a chocolate covered pretzels and apples and I made a couple oranges as well. So let's get started and I'll let you know how I made them.
There's just a picture of me enjoying my pretzels!
So the ingredients used were
💟apples
💟chocolate chips
💟pretzels
💟little Valentine's Day sprinkles.
💟a microwave safe bowl
💟a knife to cut your apples
💟a measuring cup
So I started by coring the apples and turning them into little slices just like this
After that I took my measuring cup and I got about 1 cup of chocolate chips and put it into my microwavable bowl.
So I wasn't quite sure how to use my microwave to melt the chocolate but ended up figuring it out. I put it on for about I want to say 2 to 3 minutes and that ended up melting pretty well. I think it all depends on your microwave mine had a Melt  section and in that section it had chocolate so that's what I used as a guide.

What your going to do after your chocolate is melted is take your apples and dip in the chocolate I did both sides and then put it on a piece of parchment paper and put your sprinkles on the apple .
So you're pretty much going to do the same thing for the pretzels. I didn't take a picture of me doing the pretzels cause it's pretty simple and the same as the apples. Theese are the pretzels that I did use. we have some gluten-free people in my house so I decided to use gluten-free pretzels.
So when you're done dipping all your items that you wanted to dip in chocolate you pretty much just put them on the parchment paper and stick it in the freezer. I did mine overnight but you can do less I would say do at least up to four hours.and this is what they look like after.
So this is another thing that I found on Pinterest it's just kind of a heart-shaped PB and J sandwich that you can make your kids and it's really simple.you need a heart shaped cookie cutter and what you're going to do is just put it in the bread so that one slice has a heart shaped on it.then you're going to take the PB and jelly and put it on your slice that doesn't have a shape on it. Then put the heart shaped piece on top of that and you're all set. This may be a little bit confusing but I don't know how else to explain it but here's a picture of the whole process that I did.
So I hope you guys enjoyed this post and let me know if you want to see any other recipes.
what are you doing for Valentine's Day ? what treats are you making ? let me know in the comments below!

Maybelline nudes palette review & swatches

Hey guys how are you doing on this lovely day ! Today I'm going to let you know my thoughts on the maybelline nudes palette ! I bought this right before Christmas and was super excited because I got it on sale for $6.00 !
                   Sells for about $12.99
So this palette has a pretty good variety of nude colors to use I feel you can make so many different looks with this palette. Actully maybelline gives you a guide on different looks you can make on the back of the palette.
It tells you the looks you can make with two colors , three colors and 4 colors ! It starts off with more simple colors and goes into the darker nudes that you can make more of a smokey eye with. So broke up my swatches into quads to make it a little more smple so let's get started.

The nudes :

The number one color that stands out to me would be number 3 to me it's a good crease color and can be used as a transition color as well. The other one would have to be number 1 and that could make a beautiful brown one color.

The warm shades:

This quad is my favorite and my go to day to day eyeshadow look. I love number 7 which is a gold shimmery
Color and is just gorgeous ! Overall I think that I love all of these colors and don't really have a complaint about any of the ones in this quad.

Cool shades quad:

I don't normally use this quad of the palette but it's actully not that bad  just not a cool shade type of person. I think that my favorite one would have to be number 11 it's another perfect brow bone or inner corner color.

Final verdict:
I think over all it's a decent palette it's not a over the top best thing In the work but if your new to makeup or don't use makeup that much I would say it's a good palette. I think that it could be a little more pigmented I did have to search the colors around 2-3 times so I wish it had a little more pigmentation. I like that they give you different looks to use so if you are new you know what you can do with the different eyeshadows. I think that if I had to buy it again I would in all its not that bad of a pallets but I wouldn't say it's as nice as something like the naked palette.

Have you tried the nudes palette? What did you think of it? Leave a Comment below letting me know! Also let me know what other reviews you want to see.

Manicure of the week #1

Hey guys how are you today ? So Wednesday's post is gonna be my weekly manicure ! Every week I will show you how my manicure lasted last week. My new manicure and review on nail polishes that I have and new ones I want to try !

So to start this week off I used a purple nail polish by Wet N Wild. Here is what it looks like.
Don't mind my Red Sox blanket ! So this nail polish I actully really liked. It cost $1.99 in the drugstore which is cheap I believe ! It has a thicker brush so you get your color on in less then three strokes ! When you dip the brush in it did come out with a lot of polish on the brush which for me I like less is more. But for the most part I loved this polish , the color is beautiful and on the nail is shiny ! The colors name is
So here is what the polish looked like on my nails you can see a little bit above but I'll give you the full view of it !
So that is it for this manicure Wednesday tune in next week to say how it lasted each day and to see what my manicure looks like next week !

My family

Hey everyone and welcome back ! today I am going to be posting about my life ! I will do blog post like this every once and awhile . as I sit inside on this cold wintery day that we are having I cant help but sit back and reflect on how good my life is. I have a house to live in and food to eat but most importantly I have my family. now to me family is not just blood related it is friends who will always be there for you.

I grew up in a huge family with about nine people ! I lived with my aunt ,uncle,2 cousins, my mom and my sister at one point then I've lived with my second cousin and my nana as well. this family dynamics is different then most but I wouldn't have changed it for the world. to me I grew up with my cousins being more like my brothers and sisters and my aunt and uncle being like that second mom and dad for me ! here are some flash back pictures of me growing up !

wasn't I so cute ? hahah now that I have grown up I realize so much more how important family really is to me when I needed it the most my cousin M. and her husband took me in. my mom has been there for me like no other person has ever been. my step dad is one of the most amazing guys I've met ( and the only guy my mom dated that I actually liked)!

I think that family is something that we need to hold onto they are there for you through everything the ups the downs and the in between. honestly I do not know where I would be without my family with me today. I look at people who are estranged from there families and it makes me so sad think what if that was me. I thank God every day for them and I hope you do too!

Thank you so much for reading and I will see you next time with a beauty or fashion post until next time !

xoxo,
Lexie

January Favorites

Hello everyone and welcome to my first blog post !! I am super excited to start this blog ! I have started some in the past and have just given up on them. my goals for this year would have to be not to give up in different aspects of my life. in my working out, my faith and even in this blog. so look forward to post about what inspires me fashion, beauty and life in general. enough said lets hop right into my favorites for the month.

Favorites :

Maybelline has always been my favorite drugstore makeup brand so when I was in the store and saw the not so new dream pure BB cream I decided I needed to try it out. I have to say I fell in love with it, now I had used the regular BB cream before and loved that one as well so I had a feeling that I was going to love this one too and I of course did. the thing that I like about it is that you can build it up to be almost a full coverage foundation. the plus thing about it as well is it has 2% salicylic acid acne treatment in it so it does treat your acne at the same time. now for me I don't have that much but when I do break out its nice to know my foundation is fighting those pimples.

This has been one of my go to lip products for the month. I got it in my stocking for Christmas and I have to say I love it. its just a gentle soft color and works perfectly for every makeup look. this is my if im running late or I don't want to put on too much makeup I instantly go to this color. its from mary kay and its in the color coral me crazy.

So normally I don't use a concealer but rite aid was having 40% off Maybelline products during the holidays so I said why not and picked one up . this is great for two things. highlighting and to conceal those pimples that I have been breaking out with lately. so I have to say in all I would re purchase this product over and over again,

The next two products are bath and hair! the moonlight bath wash from bath and body works is awesome. it has a smell of white jasmine, violet and lavender and yes it is a old lady smell but I love them for some reason! the next product is a nourishing leave in conditioner by macadamia which I love and whish  I used more of it lately. my hair has been so dry and  a leave in conditioner will help with that in my opinion.

Thank you all for stopping by and I hope you try some of these products out. if you do leave a comment and let me know how you liked them. if you also have any suggestions of products for me to try let me know as well. I will see you all next time !
